I have received a note that was supposedly delivered to my room while I was asleep a day or two ago. It seems Barts decided he was needed more back in Iksay than here. A pity. I enjoyed having my old friend around again, like during the war. I was looking forward to catching up with him, once I was out of the infirmary.
I hope someone is able to tend the garden he planted. It would be a shame for it to be wasted.
I suppose I shouldn't be sad since he is only a half-day's ride away, and I can visit him (and my mother) in Iksay anytime, but still. I am. Perhaps because of the feeling of losing my friends. At least I still have Borus.
And Seed. Persistent and energetic though he is, he has become a good friend. I'm glad he returned to Budehuc. I shall have to ask him how his journey went, when we get together for dinner.
My shoulder is in terrible shape. I should not fool myself into thinking it will be a swift and easy recovery.
