brief rp log with Watari

Who: Percival and Watari ([livejournal.com profile] iii_ninja )
When: last night
Where: around here somewhere
What: bits of a random rp that turned serious and plot-related

Percival: I wish it weren't this way. *slumps with his head in his hands* I wish I could just sleep to rest, not to...let my mind go places I don't want it to go.

Watari: Then face whatever it is you are so afraid of. Find your peace, and the dreams will end.

Percival: *can't admit that this is true* That's easy for you to say! *poutpout*

Watari: ... No, it's not.

Percival: *chilled by that*

Watari: I dreamed once, a regular cycle that deprived me of sleep and cognitive ability. For nearly a month each year I could hardly function I was so scared to sleep. And then I faced them, with your help no less, and I dreamed no more. But now they are back in a different form, and I must face them again. It's hard, but I am trying. Can you not do the same?

Percival: It's just...it's just stupid dreams, it's nothing. They went away before, they'll go away again. I'm sure of it.

Watari: That I doubt. My dreams lasted only a month. 11 months our of 12 I was dreamless, but always they came back. You think you'll be different with no answer?

Percival: *bravely* I'm sure I'll be fine. I got over what you did to me, I'll get over this.

Watari: Well, I hope you do, Percival. Do not take it personally when I say I think you're going about it the wrong way. Ignoring a problem doesn't mean it goes away.

Percival: *makes the I-don't-want-to-talk-about-it face*

Watari: *understands it* I won't tell you how to handle it Percival, but if you want to talk, I'll listen. I know I may not be your first choice, but... well, it's all I can do for you.

Percival: I appreciate it Watari but I'd rather...just leave it be. The more I think about it, the more likely the dream will come back.

Watari: *thinks it's a BAD idea, but...* I do have some teas that will make your dreams sleepless, and they aren't addictive. If you feel the need them, I will give you some.

Percival: Perhaps...I will take a few bags. Just in case. I can always...not make them, if I don't need them.

Watari: *nods* I keep them in my room, so if you'll walk with me a moment I can give you some packets.

Percival: A-all right. *willing to follow*

Watari: *goes to his new rooms on the boat, clearly looking lived in and occupied by two peoples. he goes to a cabinet and pulls out a drawer. he opens a paper sack and puts in six packets of tea* They all have the same effect but taste slightly different because of their mixtures. The bag with the orange stripe is the weakest and the bag with the white stripe is the strongest.

Percival: All right. I'll remember that. *peeps in the bag* Did you mix these yourself?

Watari: Some. If I have the correct ingredients on hand I'll make them, but it's sometimes easier to just purchase them.

Percival: I see. Thank you, Watari. *slight bow* I just want to sleep, that's all.

Watari: I understand. If you need more, come see me. I keep a steady supple just in case.

Percival: I'm hoping it will just be a few nights, here and there. Last time I went to Mathiu for herbal remedies.

Watari: Well, I hope they work. And we all need to be at our best with the... current situation with the Council.

Percival: Yes, exactly. That's why I can't be sleep-deprived.

Watari: Do you know what's going to happen to Louis?

Percival: .....no. *tight face* I imagine he must be in a horrible state. Zexen is not kind to prisoners. They may hold him indefinitely while they stretch out the hearing process and the negotiations for his release.

Watari: I was afraid of that. Thomas knows he cannot negotiate, correct? I can only imagine the terms would include giving full ownership of Budehuc back to Zexen, which damns us all.

Percival: Thomas wouldn't do that. He knows full well he can't give in, and I'm sure Louis knows that too. *sigh* I don't know what he'll be able to do, though.

Watari: Hold out. Surely he knows we won' abandon him either.

Percival: No, I'm sure he knows that. But... *looks away* I don't know what they'll be asking - ordering - me to do. We may end up on opposing sides, Watari.

Watari: *looks at him for quite some time* If that is your decision, Percival, so be it. We shall both do what we believe is right.

Percival: It's not a decision, Watari, it's orders! You understand orders, don't you? I can't help if they order me to leave, to be redeployed on the Tinto border, or anything...

Watari: I understand orders, Percival. I just finally made the decision that those orders were orders I couldn't follow. *shrugs*

Percival: I.... *speechless gaping* Well. There is...that. Yes. I don't want to see anything happen here...if they order me to attack the castle I...I can't.

Watari: Ah, then there lies your loyalty, doesn't it?

Percival: My loyalty is to Zexen's people...and to my own heart. Making a decision like that won't be easy, if that's the corner they force me into.

Watari: Well, I wish luck with whichever decision you make. We must each walk our own path.
Percival: Thank you for the tea. *leaves even more depressed than he came in*

Watari: *swears it's a talent of his, making people depressed, but it's not like the subject was heartening either*
